All cylinders are hand reamed to uniform dimensions with a quality cutting oil, standard and custom order Manson throat reamers and pilot bushings. The final finish varies on a number of things, some of which I still don't understand after all these years, why one cylinder will finish up nicer than another. One may come out like glass, another with have reamer marks. Generally though the finish comes out as well as the factory finish it started with.
Do you reblue?
After being cleaned and de-oiled, blued cylinders then have their throats cold blued. The cold bluing is meant as a temporary rust protectant until the firearm is used again. Once the revolver sees regular use the throats will season from the heat and carbon. When you get your cylinder back the throats may be coated with grease and may need a wipe down before use. I'd rather people be angry about the grease than be angry about rust. Remember to keep the cylinder well oiled for the first few uses.
Do you polish the throats?
No. Polishing a cylinder throat to a mirror finish does nothing to improve accuracy, but greatly increases the chances of creating flared throat leads and mouths. It's temporary cosmetics. Trying to hide tool marks will only make the throats oversized.
